I am sitting here writing in a coffeehouse, and using my headphones in public for the first time I can remember. Turned up high. I am not doing so because I need to be unconnected from my surroundings to work, nor because I don’t like the music the coffeehouse offers. It’s just because I’m sitting next to three of the loudest-talking and – most importantly – most morally repugnant young people I’ve ever fucking heard in my life.
